This year I decided to carve me a pumpkin and found out that it is not really hard to do if you just take your time. Sure there are many Pumpkin Carving Kits out there that you can use but they are not a necessity if you have some useful things laying around the house or workshop. If you are like me you have all sorts of stuff laying around that you can use. But with any project you need to have a plan and a direction to go in. Use the tools that you have available to you like the computer that you are using right now to look at this page. You can find lots of good ideas just from the things that you look at online. You could do a scary cat, a sad dog or anything that your imagination could think of as long as it can be reduced to a simple 2 color design. My inspiration came from games that I play online. Another great game for the Samhain holidays that will keep you guessing and running through the streets of 19-century Paris is the Dark Tales: Edgar Allan Poe’s Murders in the Rue Morgue Collector’s Edition. This is where we actually meet with Inspector C. Auguste Dupin for the first time, and he seems to be a rather eccentric, but charming character, but his puzzles are purely a test to be sure that you are able to keep up with his investigation techniques. Some of these puzzles can be difficult, but easily figured out if you apply some logic, and there are always hints available when you need them, if you don’t use too many too quickly. Dupin’s case will take us all over the city, searching for clues to the murder of Madame L’Espanaye and her daughter on the fictional street of Rue Morgue. It’s a grisly murder and a dark tale, but it keeps us guessing up till the end, as with most of Poe’s works. Read more...(302 words, 31 images, estimated 1:12 mins reading time)

Anyone who has played any of the Amelie’s Cafe games knows exactly what I am talking about. If you don’t believe me just look at the screen shots or better yet try the game out for yourself. The film is full of cool looking special effects but the charm and wonder that we saw in the first three films are just not there in this film that takes us back to Halloweentown. Even though all the characters from the first three are mentioned you really don’t see all that much of them and don’t even see Sophie at all, just hear that she is dimension hopping with her grandmother Aggie or Agatha Cromwell as she is knowing in Halloweentown. The movie feels more forced without a normal flow that you would expect from a family movie even one that deals with magic and Halloween. Cute little match three game that is based on the spookiness that surrounds the holiday of Halloween. This game has you match three runes or more in a row so that you are able to collect and use mystical and magical powers to clear the board. The more runes you remove from the board the higher your score is going to be. The game draws you in and makes it feel like you have to get all the runes before time runs out. You know there is no consequence to not winning because you are able to just try the level again but the music and the voice of the young witch that is guiding you urges you to get it done or else.
